Special Cell busts racket supplying ‘Meow Meow’

Delhi Police Special Cell busted an international drug syndicate with the arrest of eight persons for allegedly supplying popular party drug Meow Meow worth Rs 20 crore after they first raided a place in Greater Kailash area. Sleuths of the Special Cell identified the arrested accused as Mohd Faizan Ahmed Supariwala, Surender Singh Rishi Koli, Guddu Yadav, Manoj Sanger, Sanjay Khanna, Deepak Parasher and Mahender Singh Rana. The mastermind of the drug peddlers, Kailash is based in Dubai.

Sources said that it was Mahender Rana who got the drugs from a custom inspector (Preventive), identified as Puneet, of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Ministry of Finance. Sources added that Puneet gave 12 kg of the drug from the 500 kg recovered in February 2015 in one of the biggest drug hauls. In charge of the godown where the drug was kept, Puneet supplied it to Mahender who further passed it on to other peddlers. Puneet is on the run, said sources.

According to the police, on July 23, police received an input that one Faizan Supariwala, who hails from Mumbai, is in Delhi to receive a consignment of contraband psychotropic drug called ‘Meow-Meow’. Based on which, a trap was laid and he was apprehended in the area of GK-II. “During his interrogation, Faizan disclosed he works for some Arif and Kailash, the alleged mastermind of the drug syndicate. Based in Dubai, they used to send the drugs’ consignments abroad, especially to Gulf and European countries though couriers. He further revealed that in order to avoid getting caught, he mixed Meow-Meow with Ajinomoto, which is generally used in Chinese cuisines. They also supplied drugs in other states across India.

On Faizan’s instance, Surender was arrested. Surender revealed that he procured the said drugs from Guddu, Rishi and Tyagi. Further on Surender’s instance, Rishi was arrested. On the instance of Rishi, Guddu Yadav was arrested,” said a senior cop.

Police said that on the combined interrogation of the four accused, they revealed that they procured one consignment from Manoj. On their instance, Manoj was arrested. On their instance, Sanjay Khanna and Deepak Parashar were arrested. On Sanjay Khanna’s instance, Mahender Singh Rana was arrested.
