SP, BSP support to FDI will hit Muslims: BJP

The BJP on Sunday alleged that the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party are puppets of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre as both the parties supporting the US on the FDI in retail which will have a negative impact on the poor Muslims of the country.

BJP national spokesperson Shanawaj Hussain here said that both the SP and the BSP have been exposed in Parliament during the FDI issue as they have come on open to support the US- based Walmart and other companies as dictated by the Congress.

Linking FDI support with Muslim vote bank was a well planned strategy of BJP as it tries to alienate SP and BSP from its most favoured vote bank.

Addressing a news conference here, Hussain, who is the MP from Bhagalpur in Bihar, said that though it would be hard to implement the FDI in retail with such opposition, still two major political parties in Uttar Pradesh have ditched the common people particularly the Muslims by joining hands with the US.

‘ It would be the second time that SP has come in favour of the US after saving the UPA government on the nuclear deal in 2008,’ he stated. ‘Everyone knows that FDI in retail would be disastrous for the poor muslims of the country still the SP and the BSP even after opposing it in their speeches supported the proposal for its own vested interest,’ he alleged.

Announcing that the BJP would not allow the FDI in retail in the country at any cost, he said that the party would go before the people on the issue.’ Both the SP and the BSP have failed to follow the political ethics and even after opposing it had supported the UPA government,’ he said while adding that now people will teach them a lesson in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
