South east delhi’s traffic woes continue

The traffic jam in south east Delhi has now shifted towards Noida as Noida to Delhi carriageway of Kalindi Kunj bridge was blocked for one month for maintenance. ‘The vehicles heading towards south east Delhi from Noida will have to go through DND flyway as the carriageway on Kalindi Kunj has been blocked for maintenance till 23 February,’ said Anju Kaushik, spokesperson of Noida. Earlier, the first carriageway of the bridge from Delhi to Noida was blocked for one month for maintenance leading to jam in south east Delhi. On Wednesday, a huge pile up of vehicles was seen on major roads in Noida including Noida-Greaer Noida express way, film city, MP-1, MP-2, MP-3 and DSC road leading to heavy jam near film city and upmarket Sector 18. The commuters were stranded for hours and officer goers were the worst sufferers. According to DND officials, there’s over 30,000 vehicles increase due to closure of Kalindi Kunj flyway. ‘We have deployed more traffic police personnel on the affected routes to ease chaos,’ said Praveen Kumar, senior superintendent of police in Noida.
