South DMC demands sops for revenue collection

A joint delegation of leaders and senior officers South DMC met with the Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna and demanded incentive for performance in tax collection. The delegation included Mayor of South Delhi, Savita Gupta; Leader of House, Subhash Arya; Chairman, Standing Committee in SDMC, Rajesh Gehlot and Municipal Commissiomer, Manish Gupta. Â
Arya demanded that the corporation had achieved the revenue target in property tax, transfer duty, advertisement tax, car parking and other heads through better financial management. 'South DMC should get pending 1.5 per cent global share of financial year 2008-09 which was fixed as 5.5 percent and for the coming financial year it should be given at the rate of 7.5 percent,' said Arya.
