South Delhi tops the dengue charts

The posh south Delhi has topped in dengue cases in Delhi, as of the 70 confirmed cases from the jurisdiction of the three municipal corporations, 32 are from the four zones of south Delhi Municipal Corporation [SDMC]. North Delhi Municipal Corporation [NDMC], however, is on top in malaria cases in the city, with 331 cases of the 827 confirmed cases so far being from the region.
As per the nodal centre of civic bodies, 73 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported from Delhi, of which 70 are from the jurisdiction of the three municipal corporations and one each from New Delhi and Delhi Cantonment region. Three cases of dengue are from neighbouring states.
NDMC is also very close to the SDMC in dengue cases, with 29 confirmed cases so far. Meanwhile, eight fresh suspects were admitted to hospital, among which five were from SDMC, three from NDMC and one from EDMC. So far, two persons have lost their lives to the mosquito-borne disease.
‘We have introduced a new system of reporting cases in the hospitals to get accurate figures,’ said Y S Maan, Director, press and information of Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
