South African national nabbed with 65 swallowed capsules of cocaine

The Narcotics Control Bureau apprehended a drug mule with 65 swallowed capsules of cocaine. Close on the heels of a record seizure of 9.6 kgs of cocaine made from two South African ladies at the IGI, Airport, Delhi last week, NCB sleuths have nabbed yet another South African national, who was carrying more than one kg of cocaine concealed in the capsules swallowed in his body.

Interestingly, like the two ladies arrested last week, the accused had also boarded the Emirates Airlines flight from Sao Paulo and had reached Delhi on March 29 via Dubai. Acting on the basis of a specific tip off, the NCB officers intercepted Bobby Collins Anagar, a 42-year-old male at the IGI.

Although his personal and baggage search did not reveal anything incriminating but his behaviour and conduct aroused a lot of suspicion, informed Rohit Sharma, zonal director NCB Delhi unit. Collins was detained for questioning. He, however, started to get restless during prolonged questioning and requested the NCB officers to provide him medical aid to help pass out the swallowed capsules. He was taken to the Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors conducted X-ray and CT scan of his abdomen, which revealed the presence of a large number of oval shaped pellets in his gut.
