Sonia Gandhi picks her Lok Sabha poll entourage

Gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday announced an election coordination committee three sub-groups which Pre poll alliances sub group, Manifesto and Government programs sub group and Communication and publicity sub group.
Rahul Gandhi will be heading the election coordination committee, and has five other members. While the three subgroups are pre poll alliance sub group, Manifesto and Government Programs’ sub group and Communications Publicity sub group.
This had been announced by the Congress President in the recently concluded Samvaad Baithak which took place in Surajkund on 9 Nov . The coordination committee will ensure that the organisation and the government are on the same page as the LS elections draw near.
The interesting aspect is the active role of Rahul which until now had been limited to specific areas. This would ensure that he has a wide sweep to take decisions at the national level. Also, this prepares him for a larger role in the Congress organisational structure.
