Sonia approves poll committee for assembly elections

A 27-member election committee for the forthcoming assembly polls in Delhi, chaired by president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress committee Jai Prakash Agarwal, has been constituted. A proposal for the constitution of the committee of the Delhi Pradesh Congress has been approved by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, announced on Monday.
The 27 member committee includes Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, Janardan Dwivedi, union ministers and Congress members of Parliament (MPs) Kapil Sibal, Krishna Tirath, Ajay Maken, R K Dhawan, Dr Karan Singh, Sandeep Dikshit, Ramesh Kumar, Parvez Hashmi, Mahabal Mishra, Subhash Chopra, former MLA Tajdar Babar, senior MLA, Prem Singh, Delhi cabinet minister Harun Yusuf and Arvinder Singh Lovely, Nasib Singh, Devender Yadav, Jitender Kocher, Sudesh Sangwan, Vijay Kumar, Amit Malik and Ankit Dedha.
