Smuggler shot by BSF, 10 kg heroin, arms recovered

An Indian smuggler was killed and a couple of his Pakistani counterparts injured during a shootout between Border Security Force (BSF) and smugglers close to international border with Pakistan ON late Monday night.
After foiling the smuggling bid, the BSF carried out a search of the area and recovered 10 packets of heroin valued at around Rs 50 crore in the international market, 1 German pistol, 1 magazing and 4 rounds.
BSF, Inspector General, Frontier, Aditya Mishra said on Tuesday that the smuggling attempt was made near border outpost Harbhajan in Ferozpur sector. On Monday night BSF troops at the outpost observed some suspicious movement.
