Skill Academy acquires British A4e’s Indian arm

Skill development company Skills Academy Pvt Ltd  said it has acquired A4e India Pvt Ltd to expand its operations across the country. Skill Academy, which has been co-founded by Pia Singh, the daughter of billionaire DLF Chairman K P Singh, provides skill development to youth. A4e India, subsidiary of UK-based A4e, also provides skill development, training and placements across various industries and different states.

Skill Academy said the acquisition would allow the company to enhance its reach into new areas across different states and also leverage the varied experience of existing A4e employees.

Commenting on the acquisition, Pia Singh said, ‘There is a terrific synergy between the activities carried out by Skills Academy and A4e India and the vision of both the Companies.

This provides us with immediate scale, adds experienced teams in states where we want to operate plus provides us with a good pipeline of contracts.’

A4e India has extensive experience of working in rural, tribal areas and difficult terrain with an impressive placement record in excess of 75 per cent. Pramod Bhasin, Co-founder, Skills Academy said employees of A4e India have strong understanding of local requirements and good execution
focus to drive impact by skilling people and placing them in jobs.

Skill Academy has trained and placed over 500 learners in the last 8 months across geographies catering to the employment needs of a wide range of industries, including banking, BPO, hospitality, quick service restaurants, and retail.
