Delhi government will organise the sixth Car-free Day in North-East Delhi’s Shahdara area and a cycle-rally will not be carried out this time and an environment-awareness march held instead. The government observes Car-Free Day on 22nd of every month in different areas of the city to encourage people to use public transport. “The next Car-Free Day will be observed between Shahdara and Loni Road. At every such event, we carry out cycle rally but this time we have decided to hold environment-awareness march by the people,” said a senior government official. The official further said that a plantation drive will also be carried out to mark the event. Car-Free Day will be observed from 8 am to 4 pm in the area. The last Car-Free Day was observed from Munirka T-Point to Hyatt Hotel T-point, Vivekanand Marg in South Delhi which had witnessed a cycle-rally led by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
