Six-year-old raped, cops arrest accused

A six-year-old girl has been raped by a 19-year-old boy in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar. The accused has been arrested by police.
The incident took place on Tuesday when the victim went for her tuition classes as usual. Himanshu, the accused, was her teacher. She was with her seven-year-old brother.
But, on Tuesday, Himanshu’s family was not at home. The accused took advantage of the situation and asked the girl’s brother to go back home.
When the brother left, the accused started assaulting the girl and raped her. He released her after an hour. The girl went back home where her mother found her crying. Much to mother’s shock, who was thinking that she perhaps must have been scolded by her teacher, the girl narrated the incident.
‘A complaint was registered at Malviya Nagar police station after which a medical test was conducted that confirmed rape. Himanshu was arrested from his rented accommodation in Begampur area. A case under Section-376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against him,’ the official said.
