The six-year-old student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Indirapuram, was raped by the conductor and driver of the bus, as was confirmed by the forensic test in Agra laboratory, said police on Thursday. Subsequently, police have added Section 376 in the case, which was earlier registered under Section 377 for sodomy.
After arrest, both the accused had accepted that they sodomised her but denied the allegation of rape. The parents, however, were adamant that the victim was raped.
‘The slide of the sample was sent to forensic laboratory in Agra for confirmation test, which proved that the girl was raped. We have added the charge of rape in the police complaint and a report will soon be submitted to the court,’ said Gorakh Nath Yadav, Inspector of Indirapuram police station.
The girl, a student of Class I, was being raped and sodomised by the driver and conductor of her school bus in the parking of the school for almost a month.
The parents of the girl complained to the school prinicpal but she refused to take any action and even threatened the parents. They then lodged a police complaint.
Subsequently, both the accused were arrested and an inquiry was ordered by the Education deparment.
During the inquiry, the school authorities did not cooperate with the officer, which he has mentioned in the report.
‘The report has been sent to the government for appropriate action,’ said a senior administrative officer. The students of the school had two different timings for the bus service. Some of them were released at 1.30 pm and the rest at 2 pm. The bus conductor and the driver use to sexually assault the girl in the bus in the parking, while waiting for the second shift.
Over a hundred guardians of Delhi Public School, Vasundhara, had staged a protest at Indirapuram police station, demanding framing of charges against the principal of DPS, as co-accused in the case.
Parents alleged that the school management, in a bid to cover up the matter, flatly denied the incident, while the victim herself narrated the story to the police. The principal and management did not take any action and are now trying to shield the culprits, claimed parents.
