Six million people expected for grand snan in Kumbh

With apprehension of rains, around six million devotees are expected take a dip in Sangam during the Maghi Purnima in the onging Maha Kumbh here on Monday.
The security in the 58 kilometre radius of Kumbh Mela area has been been tightened after the serial blasts in Hyderabad recently.
Authorities have already banned entry of vehicles inside the Mela area from today and all restrictions have been made for free flow of the crown.
Though the authorities are expecting about 9 million pilgrims for Maghi Purnima bathing but due to prediction of adverse weather, the turnout could be low.
Maghi Purnima is the fifth bathing day during the Maha Kumbh and it will end on March 10 with the bathing of Maha Shiv Ratri.
Monday, would be the last bathing for the one million Kalpawasis, who are staying in the Mela area for the past one month from Paush Purnima on 27 February.
The attraction of Naga Sadhus would not be there in this bathing as all the 13 Akharas have left the Mela area after completion of the three Shahi Snan on Basant Panchami on 15 February.
Tragedy struck in this Maha Kumbh on the main bathing day of Mauni Amavasya when 37 pilgrims were crushed to death during a stampede at Allahabad Railway station on 10 February. While the turnout in the Mauni Amavasya was around 30 million but it dipped to just 8 million on Basant Panchami.
UP state road transport corporation (UPSRTC) has arranged plying of more than 2000 buses for tomorrow's bathing while Railways would also run special trains for the occasion. The temporary bus stations at Jhansi, Naini and civil lines would be used for departure of the buses while the trains will leave from railway stations of Naini, Prayag and Allahabad.
Meanwhile, the influx of the devotees had already started from today. The entry of vehicles has already been stopped since yesterday even as the Allahabad High Court has also ordered ban on entry of all vehicles except for ambulances and police vehicles on the main bathing days.
