Six arrested for snatching cellphones from passersby

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested six persons for allegedly snatching cellphones from passersby. One juvenile has also been apprehended, police said. Four motorbikes (two stolen and two used in carrying out crimes), one stolen Honda Scooty, two mobile phones and a large number of mobile recharge coupons of various telecom operators were recovered from their possession, police said.
According to the police, the accused were identified as Aakash (19), Monu (19), Hemant Kakwani (26), Naresh Kumar (34), Mohd Babar (31) and Ravi Kumar (19).
On June 17, the police received an input about the presence of the snatchers in Karala village. The police conducted a raid and nabbed Aakash and Monu on a motorcycle. The duo disclosed the names of their other accomplices and helped the police arrest them. They also told the police about their two other accomplices, who helped them carry out the crime.
The police said Hemant ran a shop of mobile accessories. He used to buy mobile phones, recharge coupons and mobile phone accessories from one Shri Bhagwan.
