Sitharaman adopts two villages in Andhra Pradesh

Union Minister of State for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman said here on Friday that she has adopted two villages in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
The two villages — Pedamainavanilanka and Toorputallu, will be developed into ‘ideal village’ with within a period of one year with funds provided from the MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) and Central schemes.
Under the one-year work, the aim is to do comprehensive development of the villages by improving basic amenities like constructing better roads, strengthening health and education facilities, Sitharaman told reporters at a press conference here.
