Sisters lured for TV show, raped

Two school going sisters, aged 12 and 14, from satellite city Noida, who wanted to participate in a dancing reality show were in for a rude shock. They found themselves in the hands of a rapist.

According to police, an FIR of two missing girls was lodged in Sector 58 police station of Noida on 18 June. 'In the preliminary investigation, we found that a 17-year-old boy, Arvind, of the same locality was also missing from his residence. We traced his mobile number,' said Praveen Kumar, Noida police chief. Both the families reside in Chhijarsi village of Sector 58 in Noida.

The police located him in Kanpur on 20 June and sent a police team to nab him and possibly the sisters as well. But the trio moved from Kanpur to Allahabad before the police could reach them. The police arrested them from a hotel in Allahabad on Tuesday night. The accused was a sanitation worker in the locality.

The police had earlier assumed an affair between Arvind and the elder sister Sarita (name changed). But later, they found out that the sisters were kidnapped under false promises.

'He had promised us to bring us to the audition of the reality television show Dance India Dance. But raped me in front of my younger sister repeatedly,' alleged Sarita in the court. The accused Arvind was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Noida.
