Sisodia’s car fined for over-speeding

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s official car was stopped and the driver was prosecuted for over-speeding, at a spot between East Delhi’s Khajuri Khas and the bridge heading towards Wazirabad, on June 12 evening, police said on Friday.

Sisodia was sitting on the back seat with another person. However, they did not intervene into the matter. Sisodia’s car was one of the few vehicles caught over-speeding by a police interceptor vehicle and stopped by the nearest police team deployed at the Khajuri Khas intersection around 5.30 in the evening, said a senior police official.

But by the time the police officials could approach Sisodia’s driver, Mahesh Kumar, left the scene. A team of three officials, comprising a ZO and a constable, chased Sisodia’s car and intercepted it again after around 1.5 kilometres. By then, it had almost reached the mouth of the bridge heading towards <g data-gr-id="16">Waziravbad</g>.

When asked why he had left without having spoken to the cops, Sisodia’s driver said that he was confused.
