Sisodia further directed that the water-logging helpline number 1077 must be made functional on a 24x7 basis to which the officials reported that it is already functioning round-the-clock. “I have directed all agencies to conduct joint inspections at severely affected areas and submit reports by tomorrow (Tuesday),” he tweeted.
In another tweet he said: “Dial 1077, 24x7 Helpline for registering complaints regarding water-logging is functional now. Kindly register your complaint.” He has sought a separate report from the Delhi Traffic Police about the roads vulnerable to water-logging and reasons behind this problem.
The reports will be followed up by further immediate corrective measures to minimise the problem of water-logging in the national Capital. The directions were given by the Deputy Chief Minister in a
meeting attended by PWD Minister Satyendar Jain, Water Minister Kapil Mishra and 50 senior officials of all the agencies responsible for checking water-logging, namely — NDMC, three MCDs, PWD, DJB, Revenue, Urban Development, DMRC, Delhi Cantonment Board, Irrigation & Flood Control department and the Delhi Traffic Police.
Sisodia directed the officials to take strict action against any department/individual for negligence of duty. It was pointed out that water-logging at and around the AIIMS flyover has been due to the ongoing construction by the NBCC. He directed the SDM of the concerned area to issue challans against the NBCC.
He also appreciated the efforts being made by different agencies to check water-logging in different parts of Delhi but emphasised on more vigilant functioning to ensure the public does not face any inconvenience.
