Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Sunday criticised BJP for its double standards saying that the party doesn’t stand by its statements on re-elections in Delhi. Sisodia tweeted: ‘If BJP & Cong really want, President’s rule can be over in no time, but do they really want it happen?’
Sisodia further added: ‘if both the parties are ready for Delhi elections then why aren’t they writing to the Lieutenant Governor.’
Meanwhile, AAP said in a press statement: ‘The double meaning statements and consistent u-turns by the BJP on the current political situation in Delhi makes it clear that it is running away from facing fresh elections and wants to resort to the Aaya Ram Gaya Ram (horsetrading brand of politics) culture of politics, against which the Supreme Court of India had warned on 17 April this year. On the other hand, the silence of the Congress on whether it is willing to officially communicate in writing to the LG and the Supreme Court that the Delhi assembly be dissolved, proves it is indirectly supporting the BJP’s Aya Ram Gaya Ram brand of politics.’
AAP had alleged that BJP is trying to court the support of Congress legislators to form the government in Delhi.
