Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday ordered a private school not to hike fees without the approval of the Directorate of Education.
“We have asked Kalka Public School at Alaknanda area in Okhla not to hold fee hike. Any school situated on government land can’t hike fees without permission of the Delhi government,” said Sisodia. He added that the decision was taken after around 150 parents complained about the fee hike to him. He also emphasised that his government is very serious about the arbitrary behaviour of private schools in Delhi. According to sources, the school belongs to a local Congress leader and even parents had protested against the fee hike on Monday. The Delhi government had recently issued show-cause notices to two private schools in the city for violating EWS admission norms and financial embezzlement.
