SI death: One land in police net

After three days a Sub-Inspector was shot dead in an encounter with robbers, Noida Police on Friday nabbed one of the main accused Furkan. The police have so far arrested two culprits while the kingpin of the gang — Javed is still absconding along with two others.

“We have recovered the gun used in the crime from Furkan. He also revealed the names of two other criminals who were involved in the crime namely – Chand Mohammed and Irshad Kalia,” said Jitender Kalra, SHO, Dadri police station. It is pertinent to mention that the alleged encounter took place in the house of Furkan where he along with Sultan and some others were hiding on that fateful night. In the encounter, Akhtar Khan Sub-Inspector posted at Dadri police station was shot at by the criminals as he stepped inside the house. The police team allegedly escaped from the spot giving a free hand to the criminals to escape. Police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on the heads of Furkan and Sultan. On Friday police got information that Furkan will pass through Dadri bypass. Police then formed a team headed by SHO of Dadri police station.
