Showers bring relief to Delhiites

It was a rainy Sunday morning in Delhi with <g data-gr-id="19">mercury</g> plunging by several notches, making it a pleasant weekend for Delhiites who have been reeling under an intense heat wave.

After a massive dust storm last evening, intermittent showers continued and the city received moderate rainfall of 25.7 mm. Light rains are expected to continue for the next couple of days.
Palam station recorded 37.0 mm rainfall, Lodhi Road, 24.8 mm and Aya Nagar, 51.7 mm rain since Saturday morning, said a MeT official.

The rain brought down the minimum temperature to 20.5 degrees Celsius, seven degrees below normal for this time of the season, he said. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 38 degrees Celsius. The minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday were recorded at 29.0 degrees and 39.7 degrees Celsius respectively. Humidity level also rose due to rain and it was recorded at 100 <g data-gr-id="27">per cent</g> at 8.30 am in the morning. Overall, the day will be a pleasant one with <g data-gr-id="23">partly</g> cloudy sky and rain or thundershowers are expected in some parts of the city, the weatherman said.
