Two unidentified assailants on Monday fired gunshots at the ground where the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shakha assembly was planned to be held. However, no casualty has been reported, police said.
According to the police, two motorcycle-borne persons fired shots at the Shakha venue at new Kidwai Nagar Park.
The police said the unidentified miscreants were wearing monkey caps, and hence, could not be identified. DCP Narinder Bhargva said the police rushed to the spot after receiving the information. No one was injured in the firing as the assembly of sanyamsewaks was yet to start, the DCP said.
It may be recalled that terrorists had attacked RSS Shakha at Dresi ground here in May 1991 in which five volunteers were gunned down and 15 others were badly injured.
