Shootout in pool hall in Honduras kills 12, injures 3

Authorities say that assailants armed with AK-47 assault rifles burst into a pool hall in Honduras’ capital and opened fire, killing at least 12 people and wounding three others.

Police spokesman Edgardo Barahona said at least three of the five attackers were wearing police uniforms and bullet-proof vests in on Saturday’s attack in Tegucigalpa’s violent northern 1 de Diciembre neighborhood. The victims ranged in age from 19 to 30. The massacre occurred a year after a similar shooting in a nearby pool hall killed five.
