Shooting at gym leaves one injured, 1 arrested

One person was injured when one out of four persons who had visited the gym, shot at a gym owner over a dispute in Janakpuri area of west Delhi, police said on Thursday.
Kamal (24), who was returning after a workout session at the gym, suffered bullet injuries on his knees when one Praveen opened fire at Vijay Singh (38), owner of the gym at Pankha road in Janakpuri area on Wednesday night.
The bullet missed Vijay and hit Kamal, who was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was
provided treatment and discharged, police said. A man-hunt is on to nab the three accused who are still absconding.
A country-made pistol along with three live cartridges and three used cartridges was recovered from the spot.
On Wednesday at around 8 pm, Vijay allegedly sent four persons, reportedly his friends, to settle scores with the owner. After reaching the gym, they formed two groups and created a fake fight within themselves. One of the accused allegedly fired three rounds at Vijay but he escaped unhurt.
However, one of the bullet hit Kamal who was returning home after workout at the gym. He was rushed to the nearby Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he was treated for his knee injury. After a police team reached the spot, the nabbed accused, identified as Pradeep (23) was taken to the police station.
A case under the sections of attempt to murder has been registered against the accused at Janakpuri police station.
