Sheila keeps same team; sitting MLAs get ticket

Sheila Dikshit will contest from New Delhi constituency. The prominent leaders whose names have been cleared by the party are Dr Yoganad Shastri from Mehrauli, Dr A K Walia from Laxmi Nagar, Haroon Yusuf from Ballimaran, Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar and Raj Kumar Chauhan from Mangol Puri. Further names that have been cleared include Prof Kiran Walia from Malviya Nagar and Ramakant Goswami from Rajinder Nagar.
Similarly, Mangat Ram Singhal from Adarsh Nagar, Narender Nath from Shahdara, Kanwar Karan Singh from Model Town, Mukesh Sharma from Uttam Nagar, Anil Bhardwaj from Tri Nagar, Rajesh Jain from Sadar Bazar, Prahlad Singh Sawhney from Chandni Chowk, Amrish Singh Gautam from Kondli, Barkha Singh from R.K Puram have been given tickets.
Others sitting MLAs got tickets from their traditional seats are Jaswant Rana, Surender Pal Singh, Devender Yadav, Surender Kumar, Jai Kishan and a few more.
It is very interesting to note that those who joined the Congress party on 6 September, 2013, have received tickets for their respective seats. These candidates include Asif Mohammad Khan from Okhla, Ram Singh Netaji from Badar Pur and Dr V K Monga from Krishna Nagar. Monga has been pitched against BJP chief ministerial candidate Dr Harsh Vardhan, from the Krishna Nagar seat.
As per party sources, the candidature of MLA Dayanand Chandila’s son from Rajouri Garden has been kept on hold.
