Sheila Dikshit’s son-in-law sent to 2-day police custody

A Delhi court on Tuesday has sent former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s estranged son-in-law to two days police custody in a case of theft and misappropriating his wife’s property.
On Tuesday, Metropolitan Magistrate allowed Delhi Police to quiz Syed Mohammad Imran till Thursday. On Sunday, Imran was arrested in Bangalore by Delhi Police after his wife filed a complaints against him in Barakhamba police station.
After Imran’s arrest, he was brought to Delhi on transit remand and On Tuesday he was produced in the court. The police have sought two days custody of Imran saying they have to recover the stolen articles.
Dikshit’s daughter Latika had accused Imran of domestic violence and filed a complaint in June in Barakhamba police station. In her complaint she has alleged that Imran took away jewellery and other expensive items from her residence.
Latika and Imran, who got married in 1996, had been living separately for the last 10 months.
Imran has been booked for dishonest misappropriation of property, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and cheating and also under the Information Technology Act.
Latika also accused one of her female relatives of being “in connivance” with Imran, cops said.
