Sheila Dikshit reaches out to city youths

While her opponent claimed to hold sway over youths in the city, chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday attempted to reach out to them addressing a convention at Talkatora Stadium.

Addressing the gathering, Dikshit said the Congress party was committed to fulfilling the aspirations of youths in the country.

She was joined by party general secretary Shakeel Ahmed, Delhi Congress president JP Aggarwal and East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit, who also addressed the huge gathering.

‘Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi has been stimulating the workers to join hands in order to defeat the opportunist and communal forces, out to weaken the nation,’ said Dikshit reminding the participants of the convention that it was the Congress that gave voting rights to youths at the age of 18.

She was joined by party general secretary Shakeel Ahmed, Delhi Congress president JP Aggarwal and East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit.

Dikshit while referring to the development that has taken place in Delhi during last 15 years, said ‘One can see and feel a sea change in various sectors including health, education, transport, power and infrastructure.’

‘Delhi government is concentrating on the skill development and has opened a World Class Skill Development Institute in its camp campus at Vivek Vihar. The permanent campus at Jaunapur would have an annual intake of 15000,’ she said.
