Sharat Chander appointed info officer in PMO

Sharat Chander of the Indian Information Service (IIS) has been appointed as Information Officer in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Chander, a 1999 batch Indian Information Service officer, has been appointed on the personal staff of prime minister Narendra Modi, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
‘He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the PMO,’ the DoPT order stated.
Sharat Chander is currently working in Press Information Bureau (PIB) handling media affairs of the Prime Minister’s Office.
