Shakarpur sodomy case: 3 granted bail, landlord sent to judicial custody

A day after Delhi Police arrested three youth for bullying and assaulting a 12-year-old boy in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area, a local court granted bail to the three while sent their landlord, identified as Sushil to 14-day judicial custody after he was arrested by the Delhi Police. Talking to Millennium Post, family members of the minor boy shared that “it will take a long time for the child to come out of the trauma,”

On Sunday evening ,a 12-year-old boy with some learning disability was allegedly bullied, brutally assaulted with knives, water pipes and sexually assaulted by three youth after the accused got into a verbal altercation with the minor boy when the boy went over to pick up a snapped kite which landed on their terrace in the Sanjay Park area of East Delhi’s Shakarpur area.

Although the culprits got bail as the offence came under bailable sections of the law, the minor boy continues to live in a state of trauma. Talking to Millennium Post, a cousin of the boy shared: “Although Saransh (name changed) was discharged from the Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital on Monday night, he is still under a lot of pain. A slow learner, he usually speaks less. After this incident, he has completely stopped talking.”

According to the family members of the minor boy, Saransh (name changed), a class VIII student on Sunday evening went out to fly a kite at around 6 pm when his kite landed at the terrace of the accused.

Family members further alleged that the accused had held Saransh hostage in their room for four hours. Late at night, the accused dropped the minor boy at doorstep of his house, threatening his mother to remain quiet or face dire consequences.
