Seven arrested for stealing belongings of rail passengers

Seven persons have been arrested from three different railway stations in the national capital for allegedly stealing laptops, mobile phones and purse of the passengers.
Vinod Kumar alias Narender, 43, and 30-year-old Rajkumar alias Sanjay alias Brijesh were arrested from New Delhi railway station for allegedly stealing laptop bag of a passenger who was travelling by Ahmedabad Rajdhani on 14 February, police said on Sunday.
‘They were arrested on 15 February and police has recovered two laptops from their possession,’ said S B S Tyagi DCP Crime and Railways, adding there are four cases against them.
Vindhyachal and Jagdish Singh, both in there 20s, were arrested from Sarai Rohilla railway station (SRRS) and two stolen mobile phone sets were recovered from them on 15 February. Three persons were arrested from Old Delhi railway station in three different theft cases.
Patrolling railway tracks near Lal Qilla, police apprehended 20-year-old Govind and recovered a mobile phone from him, which he said was stolen from a resident of Aurangabad in Uttar Pradesh, the official said.
21-year-old Amir, a resident of Zafrabad in Seelampur, was arrested from platform number nine on 15 February when he was trying to pick pocket a purse from one passenger who was to travel by Sadhbhawana Express. Akram, 23, was arrested for snatching a mobile phone from an advocate when he was travelling by Ahmedabad Mail on 13 February, he said.
