Servant held in 6-yr-old’s kidnapping case

The Gautam Budh Nagar Police arrested Udayveer who was involved in kidnapping a 6-year-old boy from Bulandshahr district. Police said that the victim is son of a sitting Councillor from Greater Noida’s Dadri area and was kidnapped by his former servant while returning home from school on Friday. 

According to the police, the victim Vansh is the son of Councillor fron Dadri area Komal Sharma. The Councillor’s family lives in Bramhapuri area while her children- Vansh and Aditya (13), study in Children Academy. On Friday morning, both Vansh and Aditya went to their school but only Aditya returned home.

The members of the family approached the school but were informed that one of the family’s acquaintances, posing as a servant, took back the boy (Vansh) saying that the family had to go somewhere with the boy.  On Saturday morning, the family received a ransom call demanding Rs 70 lakh. The kidnappers also threatened them not to inform the police or the boy would be killed. The family immediately approached Dadri police and the matter was reported. On the family’s instance, police conducted raids at various locations in and outside the district.

On late Saturday night, police raided a house in Bulandshahr’s Shikarpur area and rescued the victim and arrested Udayveer, a former servant of the family. Police claimed that during sustained interrogation, the accused confessed his crime. “We have been interrogating the arrested abductor so that we can get details about the gang and its members. We have been tracing the other absconding accused, so we can solve the kidnapping case properly,” said a police official investigating the case.
