Serious introspection will be done: Karat

Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee once again has painted Bengal ‘green’. Banerjee, the queen of Bengal, has bagged two-third vote share of the entire population, which is more than 2011 polls. However, the Left-Congress alliance has failed to convince the people of Bengal.

In an interview with Millennium Post, Rajya Sabha MP of Communist Party of India Brinda Karat said, “Defeat of the Left Front is not only a major setback for Bengal, but also for the entire Communist Party of India.”

Considering the failure of the alliance with Congress, political observers are indicating this as of the biggest bungle of the ‘falling star’ of Bengal.

“As far as the result and the alliance with the Congress is concern, the entire element will be re-examined. Everything will be reviewed. Even a serious introspection will be also done,” Karat told Millennium Post.

CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury also said his party had accepted the “people’s verdict” in the West Bengal Assembly polls with “all humility” and will introspect on the results.

On the contrary, The CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front is all set to come back to power in Kerala with a clear majority.

“In Kerala, this is a historic win. People have responded to our positive programmes,” Brinda added.
