Senior-most officer refrains from joining ACB, cites ‘personal issues’

The move of Delhi government to rope in officers from Bihar Police received a setback on Wednesday as the senior most among the six officers expressed his inability to join the anti-graft body. According to the reports, he apparently cited ‘personal issues’ for not joining the <g data-gr-id="16">Anti Corruption</g> Branch in Delhi.
“We are in talks with some states like West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh regarding appointing honest officers for ACB. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has assured us to provide some officers,” said a senior government officer.
“We are forced to approach the states as Delhi Police have not given any concrete response to our request for more officers,” he added. According to sources, UP government has also refused to give 15 officers demanded by Delhi government citing staff crunch. According to a senior officer in ACB, three inspectors and two sub-inspectors (SI) of Bihar <g data-gr-id="17">Police</g> have joined the agency.
“An officer of the Army cadre from Andaman & Nicobar has also joined the anti-graft body,” added the officer.
