Sena MLA booked for extortion threat to BJP leader

Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has been booked for allegedly issuing extortion threats to defeated BJP nominee Sanjay Pandey from Ovla-Majiwada assembly seat here, police said on Friday.
According to PSI SJ Chavan of Vartak Nagar police station, offence was registered against Sarnaik last night under sections 447, 448,383, 387 r/w 34 of the IPC on the basis of a complaint lodged against him by Pandey’s manager Om Prakash Mishra. The complaint said Sarnaik, alongwith 10-12 men reached Pandey’s office on 29 October and allegedly threatened Mishra. ‘I had to spend over Rs 20 crore in these elections. Ask your master to give me Rs 20 crores or else I will make his life miserable,’ Sarnaik is said to have told Mishra.
