Security guard falls to death

A 37-year-old security guard posted at West Delhi’s WestGate Mall in Rajouri Garden area fell from its third floor under mysterious circumstances on Monday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 12.30 pm when Manoj fell down from the third floor of the mall. One of the locals made a PCR call after which the local police rushed Kumar to ESI hospital where he was declared dead on admission.

“We are scanning through the CCTV footage of the mall to ascertain the exact sequence of the events. It is difficult to say whether it is a suicide case or if someone pushed Manoj Kumar. Probe is on,” said Pushpendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).

Manoj is a native of Etah in Uttar Pradesh and lived with his family in the Raghubir Nagar area of Rajouri Garden.

No case has been registered so far, said a senior police official. He added that they have sent the body for post-mortem and are waiting for the autopsy reports.
