Security guard beaten to death while trying to foil robbery bid

A 65-year-old security guard in central Delhi’s Paharganj area was beaten to death by a group of burglars on the intervening night between Wednesday and Thursday. The incident took place at 1.20 am at Nehru Market in Paharganj. Bhagat Shah (deceased) and his nephew Karan Bahadur, were guarding the shops in the market, when they saw a group of burglars trying to break into a shops. When they resisted, the accused hit both of them with some metallic equipment and fled the spot after Shah collapsed. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The accused are yet to be identified.
