Search on for 25-year-old who planned abduction of family

The Noida police are searching for a 25-year-old man who is allegedly behind the disappearance of parents and two minors from a village under Badalpur police station area in Greater Noida since August 1. 

“One of the accused Salman, involved in the conspiracy, was picked up but another accused Pramod is still on the run. Teams have been formed to trace Pramod who is the prime suspect,” said a senior police official investigating the case.

A father-mother duo were allegedly killed while two of their children were reported missing from Bambawad village. Police had said that the family was missing since beginning of this month but the matter came into light on Saturday night. 

Police have recovered body of one of the deceased while searching for others. 

On Sunday, police registered a case against two persons and arrested one of them. According to the police, Vedprakash’s wife Kamlesh, his daughter who was stated to be a minor and their four-year-old son were living in the village. 

Vedprakash, head of the family, was a farmer owning several bighas of land. 

The family went missing and their mobile phones were switched off. The villagers tried to launch a massive search operation but in vain. The missing family could not be traced.

On raising suspicion. Vedprakash’s younger brother Omprakash approached the police seeking help to trace the family. 

The police was informed that two youth — Salman and Pradeep — were close to the family and were missing from the village since the incident. One of them, Salman, was arrested. 

Police said that during interrogation Salman accepted hatching conspiracy to kill the couple. He claimed that Pradeep is the main accused who killed both Vedprakash and his wife. 

Salman, however, has claimed that he had no information about the whereabouts of the missing children.
