SDMC to initiate Malviya Nagar re-development plan in S Delhi

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is all set to initiate Malviya Nagar Road re-development plan in South Delhi. In the project, the corporation has planned improvement and modernisation of roads for traffic management in Malviya Nagar. The estimated cost of this project will be approx Rs 75.8 crore to improve 4.9 km stretch on the main road in Malviya Nagar.
The instant project is a design proposal for improvement of the main road of Malviya Nagar connecting the metro station on the west to the BRT Corridor and the proposed Chirag Delhi metro station to the east.
The proposed design is derived from detailed physical survey and traffic analysis in consultation with residents seeing to the practical feasibility as per conditions at site.
The SDMC will carry out the road improvement work as per the appended layout plan, from Malviya Nagar Metro Station up to Apeejay School.
The provisions of the projects are improvement of drainage system, improvement and strengthening of carriage way, construction of approach road and parking space, construction of walk way and pedestrian lane, shifting of existing services such as electrical transformer, street lighting, pole and improved street lighting, development of green belt and horticultural work, providing public amenities like women’s toilets, urinals and the like.
