SDMC moves against illegal constructions

South Delhi Municipal Corporation is taking stern action against unauthorised constructions in all four zones.
Commissioner Manish Gupta has said that mass sealing drive against the unauthorised construction will be launched by all zonal building departments in the areas under the jurisdiction of the corporation. A separate register would be maintained by the zonal offices, which would contain all relevant details of sealed properties.
He said that in order to ascertain status of sealed properties, inspections at a regular interval of 15 days would be conducted by the junior engineers and assistant engineers concerned.
Gupta has also asked the zonal deputy commissioners to send a letter to the deputy commissioner of police concerned, for the entire unauthorised colony, wherein building activities are not permitted, with the request to issue appropriate instructions to the concerned police officers for keeping vigil in
such colonies.
