Now, the residents of South MCD don’t need to run from pillar to post to get their building plans sanctioned. They just have to submit their documents, digitally. In a unique initiative, the South MCD has become the first civic body in the country to introduce a completely online and digitised procedure for sanction of building plans in a totally paperless manner. The corporation on Wednesday provided an online building plan to its first applicant.
“The applicant is not required to visit any office of the corporation but only submit all the details online on the website of the corporation. He will immediately get a case number to follow up on. The details will automatically be transferred to the concerned officers and within 15 days, the applicant would be able to download the sanction letter,” said the spokesperson of South MCD. The first digitised building plan application, pertaining to residential property number 13/84, West Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi has been sanctioned by the SDMC with a digitally signed sanction letter. The applicant of the case was not required to visit the department, and moreover, he could get the updated status of his application at any stage with one click. With this transformation, the earlier procedure of submission of hard copy of application has been dispensed with the help of single window clearance and the common application form online/ digitised mode is operational for building plans in respect to residential, commercial, warehouses and industrial properties. “The building plan was provided in the form of a digitally signed letter which was downloaded by the applicant while sitting home,” informed a SDMC official. The Centre had conceptualised this two years back under the ease of doing business to commission an expeditious and hassle-free sanction of building plans of various categories online.
