SDMC asks toll collector to levy ECC till further court orders

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has directed the toll operator to collect Environment Compensation Charge (ECC) beyond February 29 till further court orders from all the specified commercial vehicles entering Delhi. The Apex Court imposed ECC on all the specified commercial vehicles entering Delhi directing the toll operator to collect the same till February 29 this year.

Environmental Pollution (Prevention and Control Authority) Chairperson Bhure Lal issued directions regarding collection of ECC that it shall be levied by the Corporation beyond February till further orders. Special Commissioner (Transport) endorsed that ECC shall be levied by the Corporation till further orders.
