According to neighbours, the accused was fed up with the man having his dog, a Spitz, defecate on the road in front of his house, adjacent to the colony park.
The incident happened in Humayunpur area of Safdarjung Enclave at 10:30 pm. According to sources, this is not the first time the two men engaged in a heated argument regarding the dog excreting.

Around 8 pm, as Rohit objected a quarrel ensued between the two. According to a senior Police official, Rohit objected to Monty taking his dog out for a walk in the park. The matter escalated when the locals who also held grudges against Monty joined Rohit. One of the locals who possessed a gun opened fire randomly. Monty’s brother Sunny was pelted with stones.
When the matter was settled after some argument, both went their ways but the real drama unfolded around10:30 pm when Rohit came back with 30-40 men to take revenge. The mob started firing indiscriminately at Monty’s house, after which they fled the spot. The strange incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed there. The police will examine CCTV footage and an investigation is on to identify the accused.
