SC/ST teachers body backs DU on 4-yr course

After the massive support from the principal of 45 colleges, the Delhi University has received statements from the Delhi University SC/ST Teachers Association and SC and ST Teachers of the University of Delhi expressing their support for the new four-year undergraduate programme to be
introduced from the next academic session.
The teachers associations pointed out numerous advantages that the new programme will be offer SC/ST students, who will now have a choice to decide which colleges he/she will join unlike the centralized admission of the past where SC and St students were allotted a particular cllege.
The university informed the teachers that every student will have equal opportunity to obtain a honours degree when she/he graduates.
The teachers stressed that the programme addresses the need for educational policies for the new generation of learners flocking to the university.
