School van driver sexually assaults minor

In yet another case of crime against young girls and women, a 12-year-old girl has been allegedly sexually assaulted by her school van driver in south Delhi. The incident was reported to the Delhi Police on Saturday from Sector 9, R K Puram. A neighbour of the accused Nitish Kumar, 22, caught him in the heinous act.
Kumar was handed over to the police for investigation. He not only confessed to committing the crime, he also revealed that he raped the victim twice earlier, once in December and then in January. 'He revealed that after raping the girl twice, he gave her death threats. That's why she did not tell anyone about the incident,' said a police official.
On Saturday morning, when Kumar took the victim to his residence, his neighbour saw it and immediately informed the police and rescued the girl.
According to the police, the victim is a Class V student of a private school, while Kumar is a school van driver. 'After we received the complaint, the girl was taken to a nearby hospital for the medical examination that confirmed the allegations. On the basis of the reports, a case of rape and sexual assault has been registered against Kumar,' the official added.
