SC orders CBI probe on DA charges against AP’s top cop

The Supreme Court on Friday slammed the Andhra Pradesh government for not conducting any probe against state police chief V Dinesh Reddy for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets and ordered Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against him.
A bench comprising of Justice B S Chauhan and S A Bobde directed CBI to conduct the probe and file status report within four weeks. The court was shocked by the manner in which the state government abandoned the allegation against him and not conducting any probe against when copy of a complaint against him was forwarded by the central government.
