The newly-appointed Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay took over the charge of his office from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan in a simple but effective function held at Delhi BJP state office.
‘We are advancing towards generational change,’ said Harsh Vardhan on this occasion. He
hailed Upadhyay (51) as a tried and tested worker of the party who has wide experience of working in the organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, Upadhyay said, ‘I will work as the trustee of the party not as a president and the organisation will work as a team. We shall work to strengthen the youth and women units of the party because today the youth has a different thinking and they can give a new direction to the party and they have different expectations from the municipal bodies,’ said Upadhyay.
BJP’s general secretary Ramlal, Delhi BJP in-charge Prabhat Jha, former presidents Vijay Goel, Om Prakash Kohli, Vijender Gupta, all the MPs of Delhi, senior leader Jagdish Mukhi and mayors of the MCDs were also present at the event.
