Satisfied with govt functioning: Chandy

Despite charges of corruption including bar bribery faced by his ministry, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said he was “fully satisfied” with the four-year rule of the United Democratic Front (UDF) government and it would complete its full tenure.

“The UDF government is stepping into its fifth year in office and I am fully satisfied with its <g data-gr-id="21">four year</g> rule,” Chandy told a Meet-the-Press programme organised by Thiruvananthapuram Press Club as part of its ‘Keralam <g data-gr-id="19">Ini</g> <g data-gr-id="20">Engottu</g> (Now Where To Kerala) - Political and Developmental debate’.

When pointed out that former Defence Minister and CWC member A K Antony had expressed concern over growing corruption in different sectors, he said, “You should ask him.”

However, he hastened to add that Antony, a former chief minister, had made the comment to create more awareness against corruption.

“Antony was the only person who can point out against corruption,” he said but declined to comment on the remarks made by KPCC Vice President, V D Sateeshan, that the UDF government was under the shadow of corruption.

Antony and state Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala at a function here last week expressed concern that corruption was on the rise in some sectors.
