‘Sanitation, transparency to be top priority in Corporation’

Newly elected chairman of the standing committee of South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Subhash Arya on Friday said that sanitation and transparency would be his top priority in the corporation. He also emphasised the role of the opposition to take decisions and implementation of the policies of the corporation.
‘Corporation can’t be run without opposition. I welcome all the views to improve the situation of the corporation and take decisions in public interest,’ said Subhash Arya, after taking charge as chairman of the standing committee.
‘My first objective will be to work for the Swach Bharat Abhiyan started by our prime minister. We will try to strengthen sanitation system in the areas under jurisdiction of SDMC,’ said Arya. He further added that he would try to curb corruption and abolish inspector raj in the Corporation for its better functioning.
